Welcome Back

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and wish you a very Happy New Year.

As we start the new term, it is a good time to remind you of our high expectations, particularly around attendance and punctuality, behaviour and uniform.听 Please click here to access our Uniform Policy and I would especially like to draw your attention to appropriate footwear.听 Furthermore, given that our newly installed central heating system is fully operational and running efficiently, pupils are not permitted to wear coats or any other outer layers anywhere within the school building.听听 Such breaches will be sanctioned in line with our Behaviour Policy, which you can access here.听 Your support around these basic expectations is much appreciated.

Driving and Parking Around the School

Please can I ask parents/carers to drive and park responsibly when dropping off/collecting your children from school.听 We听 place great value on our relationship with our neighbours and ask that you always park with care and consideration in the surrounding roads.听 In particular, please do be mindful of not parking so as cause an obstruction and/or to block the driveways of local residents. 听Over recent weeks, a number of local residents have reported their concerns regarding both the safety of our pupils and the inconvenience caused to them by inconsiderate parking.听 Thank you, in advance, for your ongoing support.

Snow Closure

Given the current cold spell, I wanted to remind you, once again, of the arrangements in the unlikely event of snow falling leading to any necessary school closure.听 We will always make every effort to keep the school open but do have to consider the safety of both pupils and staff, many of whom travel from a distance away.听 Should there be a need to close, we will aim to post this on the school website by 7.45am, at the latest (remember to click the 鈥榬efresh鈥� button to ensure accessing the latest information).听 Local radio stations no longer broadcast this information, but this will also be published on the Essex County website:听听or simply just search for Essex County Council Emergency School Closures.听 One of the positive takeaways from COVID is that, in the event of a snow closure, teachers are prepared to revert to remote learning.

Essex Table Tennis Event

We qualified 3 pupils.

Cooper H – year 7
Lexie HG – year 8
Oliver M – year 11

They tried so hard and were a credit to the school, no other school in our area was represented!

Achievements from the the event:

They all won some games played, achieving additional points

All giving up there Saturday with myself, to play sport for Sweyne.

Cooper gained a round of applause for his triumphant efforts.

Lexie got through to the next round to represent Essex in May at the London games.

As you are aware we keep confidential records on our systems with parents/carers contact details, ie. addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts and email addresses. If you have recently made any changes could you contact Pupil Services on: pupilservices@sweynepark.com so we can update our systems please.
We also hold information re your preference for use of pupils鈥� biometric data and school photos both inside and outside of school. If your preferences have changed, could you make us aware of the change by also emailing Pupil Services.
