Online Safety Talk

The Essex Safeguarding Children’s Board has arranged for a free online session for parents/carers with the 2 Johns at 8pm on Thursday 26th June.

They are former police officers who are experts in the field of online safety – their sessions are very engaging and always include a wealth of up-to-date information and are highly recommended.

AI in Fortnite

With new features to keep players interested. One of the latest updates uses AI to allow players to talk to characters, including Darth Vader.

While this will be attractive for many players of the game, there are some things for parents/carers to consider. The blog linked below provides some useful advice, including information about the parental settings for the AI feature:

Year 8 Awards Evening

Last night we hosted the first of our celebration evenings for Year 8 pupils. This was a lovely occasion giving us the opportunity to publicly recognise the many and varied achievements of these young people.

Awards are not only presented for academic achievement in different subject areas but also for the most number of positive points earnt, 100% attendance, contribution to the community and to the school, character and also to pupils recognised by their Tutor and/or Head of Year.

This is a wholly inclusive event which reflects the very heart of our ethos here at Sweyne Park.

The next celebration evening will be on Tuesday 10th June for our Year 9 pupils.

And Finally

Have a lovely weekend.

🎾 Well done to our Year 7 & 8 girls’ tennis team!

The team secured an impressive 4-2 win against Chelmsford County High School for Girls! Two of our players were new to singles matches, yet all five girls showed fantastic skill and sportsmanship.

Tennis is unique among school sports, players umpire their own matches and keep their own scores, building confidence and independence on court.

👏 Special mentions:

Lexie HG stayed unbeaten with a flawless 4-0 win against a strong number one seed!

Jessie M fought hard in a tight match, coming out on top 7-5 in her singles.

Both doubles teams brought in victories to seal the overall win.

Well played, girls – we’re proud of you all! 💪🎾

Year 10 Rugby

A huge shoutout to our ߴýSchool yr 10’s Alex, Barnaby, and Jack after their final game, and a win! – with Saracens Player Development Group 🙌⚫🔴

The boys have put in an incredible amount of hard work and dedication to reach this level. A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for everyone involved!
