Ofsted Report

Further to my email at the start of the week, thank you to everyone who took the time to send some lovely messages of support. Whilst we appreciate that the Ofsted Inspectors can only ever see a snapshot of our school during their two days visit, it was satisfying to receive positive external validation.

As I said in my email, I really do believe that the Report was a true reflection of our school and highlighted so many elements of which we are extremely proud.

Sports Day

We are looking forward to holding our annual Sports Day on Friday 11th July, weather permitting!

This is for our pupils in Years 7, 8 & 9 only.

The event is very much a reflection of our inclusive culture and, as always, we encourage as many of our pupils as possible to take part. On this day all competitors should come to school in their full PE kit. Supporters must wear full school uniform.

To facilitate the running of the afternoon, on this day only, Year 8 & 9 will have their lunch at 12.30pm.

The Year 7 lunch will be the same (1.00pm).

Induction Week

It is hard to believe that next week we will be welcoming our new Year 6 intake into school for their first experience of Sweyne Park.

We will also be hosting an event for new staff who are joining us in September.Ìý I know that our pupils will show the utmost respect and act as excellent role models to our future Year 7 pupils.

Many thanks, in advance, to the huge number of Year 11 pupils who have volunteered to assist during the day.Ìý This speaks volumes about their commitment to the school, especially now that they can be relaxing having finished their examinations.

Noah’s Coaching Journey in Gymnastics

Noah has been training in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics at South Essex Gymnastics Club since he was very young.

He now trains six hours a week and also volunteers two hours as an assistant coach at their Gym School, where many parents have personally thanked him for his support with their children.

Last weekend, he took the next step in his coaching journey by completing an 8-hour Gymnastics Helper course at Pegasus Gymnastics Club in Kent.

He is now officially qualified to assist Lead Coaches at any British Gymnastics facility.

Isla Achieves a New Personal Best!

Isla finished 4th in her heat with an impressive new personal best of 28.3 seconds—just half a second shy of qualifying for the final!

Although she narrowly missed out, she really enjoyed the experience and showed great progress.
