Wednesday 13th November from 6.00pm - 8.30pm
Head of Sixth Form talks at 6.15pm and 7.00pm

Application deadline is Monday 16th December.

Admissions Criteria for entry to the Sixth Form

Total Intended Number to Admit:Ìý 140 (September 2025)

We have 15 places reserved for external applicants to the Sixth Form. More external applicants may be admitted until we have reached our limit of 140 students.ÌýIn previous years, we have not had to turn away any external applicant who has met the entry criteria.

Admission to the Sixth Form will be subject to the following criteria:

The student must have attained the minimum GCSE Points Score ofÌý38 pointsÌýfrom his or herÌýbest eight GCSE results, with at least Grade 5 in English and Grade 5 in Maths forÌýAdvanced Level entry. A GCSE Points Score ofÌý30 pointsÌýwill be required to follow aÌýcombined curriculumÌýof Vocational Courses and A Levels.Ìý Please see the table below to help you calculate your points score.

The GCSE Points Score is a points total which counts a student’s best 8 GCSE grades including English and Maths. Add your best 8 grades together using the points awarded on the following scale:

Reformed Qualifications 9 to 1 Other/vocational Level 2 qualifications
Grade 9 – 9pts Distinction – 7pts
Grade 8 – 8pts Merit – 5.5pts
Grade 7 – 7pts Pass – 4pts
Grade 6 – 6pts
Grade 5 – 5pts

º¬º¦Ðß´«Ã½Sixth Form Subject Entry Requirements September 2024

In the event of over-subscription, the following (in addition to the above) will apply:

  1. Looked-after children will be given first priority1.
  2. Proximity of the child’s home to the school, on the basis of straight-line distance, with those living nearest being accorded the higher priority.
  3. For the purposes of Points 1 and 2 above, the school does not distinguish between internal and external applicants.
